    Housing Information 
    The military provides two options for the use of your Basic Allowance For Housing (BAH)
    The first option is to live on base. Your second option is to use your BAH to rent or buy a house off base. We provide you military friendly information to help you maximize your BAH.

    • The Housing Management Office (702) 652-1840. Contact the HMO as soon as you know you are moving. You will be provided with the latest information on local housing as well as referral services and relocation assistance. They offer counseling and guidance before entering into a lease agreement and help resolve tenant-landlord disputes.

    Nellis AFB On Base Housing  

    • The Unaccompanied Housing Office (702) 652-6769. The barracks are reserved for airmen in the ranks of E1-E4 with less than 3 years of service. You are provided with private sleeping room, furnishings, bed linens and supplies required for comfortable living.  

    • Nellis on-base housing is privatized and operated by Hunt Military Communities (702) 677-3660, which offers several communities with ranch-style single family homes and detached duplexes with great amenities such as: Washer/Dryer hookups, pet friendly, AC and gated communities.

    Surrounding Areas
    Las Vegas is the largest city in Nevada and one of the largest in the Western US, with a strong tourist-driven local economy. Las Vegas is near the southern tip of Nevada, not far from both Arizona and California. The area is generally flat, dry, and warm to hot year round. Nellis AFB is right next to the city of North Las Vegas, and many airmen take the base-to-base shuttle; this is a two hour round-trip commute. The city of Las Vegas is well known as the "entertainment capital of the world" and being a serious nightlife and resort city; the city of North Las Vegas has some of this, and shares a border with the more famous city, but is also a technology center and home to a large number of community-minded, socially conservative people.

    Nellis AFB is home to the U.S. Air Force Warfare Center which is the largest and most demanding advanced air combat training in the world. Nellis provides training for composit strike force which include every type of aircraft in the Air Force inventory. Training is conducted with air and ground units of the Army, Navy, Marines and Air Force from allied nations.
